Locking and Sealing

ND Microcapsule Epoxy Series products are epoxy-based, room-temperature curing adhesives. They can be applied to all sizes, configurations, materials, and surface finishes. Fasteners pre-applied with ND Epoxy adhesive are surface-dry and ready for assembly.

These epoxy products contain epoxy resin microcapsules suspended in a hardener. The force of assembly shatters the epoxy resin microcapsules, which react with the hardener to lock the assembly. This series of products provides consistent torque and does not require additional heating or catalysts.

Generally, ND Epoxy Series products begin setting in 4 hours and fully cure in 72 hours.

Features:

Low screw-in torque: Compared to nylon adhesives, ND microencapsulated products can be easily assembled using common hand tools.

Excellent locking ability: Extensive testing has proven that the ND microencapsulated epoxy series provides two to four times the breakaway torque of traditional plastic fastener locking devices.

Long shelf life: Once applied to a workpiece, the ND microencapsulated epoxy series remains inert until locked into the mating component and begins to cure.

Unaffected by foreign substances: The interlaced molecular structure of the ND microencapsulated epoxy series makes it a chemical-resistant adhesive. Once fully cured, it is virtually unaffected by oil, gasoline, salt spray, acids, solvents, and water.

Save money: ND microencapsulated products are less expensive than using quick-drying products on the assembly line. No expensive lock washers, cotter pins, or lock nuts are required.
