Lock and Seal
Nylon glue is a pre-applied nylon coating that can be used on fasteners with internal or external teeth to provide inert pressure on the teeth of the engaging components. Nylon glue is dry, and coated parts are ready to use. Nylon glue can be assembled immediately without the time required for curing.
During assembly, the nylon glue is compressed, and the engineering plastic resists this compression and pushes the screw to the other side, increasing metal-to-metal contact on the opposite side of the nylon glue. This physical force produces a strong, adjustable locking force that won't be weakened by extreme vibrations. Nylon glue is often referred to as torque self-locking fasteners.
Nylon glue is usually applied from one to three teeth on the bottom to ensure easy locking. The length of a normal coating of nylon glue is 1.2-1.5 times the outer diameter of the tooth. The position and length of the coating can be changed for specific applications, and a variety of color options are available.
As with all our pre-coated product samples, we can provide nylon glue coating service at any of our regional service centers, or we can supply nylon glue coated fasteners.
Features:
Chemical Resistance: Nylon glue will not dry, shrink or lose properties when exposed to commercial solvents, alcohol, gasoline, petroleum, caustic soda, jet fuel, etc.
Reusability: Fasteners coated with nylon glue can be installed and removed repeatedly without damaging the threads. Particularly resistant to deformation, which makes it suitable for repeated use.
Maintains full strength: Nylon glue is not drilled or milled, so there is no loss of fastener strength or hardness and no troublesome burrs or chips.
Save money: Using nylon glue doesn't require expensive lock washers, cotter pins or cage nuts. You get a low cost locking solution.
